Cleaning Program
In December 2022, the Everett City Council approved the establishment of a business improvement area (BIA) for the Everett Station District.
The City of Everett and ESDA are currently in the activation phase of the BIA.
Litter Pickup
The BIA funds have been utilized to provide Daytime Neighborhood Ambassadors who in addition to providing more eyes-on-the-street, pick up litter as they walk and bike the neighborhood Monday - Saturday. Two e-bikes are used by Ambassadors to pick up larger items or garbage that they identify while on their route.
Any major trash pile-ups or trash seen in the neighborhood are reported to the City for cleanup. Ambassadors use their discretion in assisting in cleaning up major trash pile-ups on public right-of-way, considering how big the situation is, their time constraints, and whether ESDA has space to dispose of the trash.
Community Cleanup Days
As part of the City of Everett’s Adopt-A-Street Program, ESDA leads community cleanup days on the third Saturdays of April, July, and October. Check out our calendar for an upcoming cleanup event!
Pallet Recycling Program
With the establishment of the BIA, ESDA will be working with a servicer to provide free regular pick-up of wooden pallets from businesses in the neighborhood.
Graffiti Prevention & Abatement
If vandalism is found on private property action will be required on behalf of the property or business owner to remove the graffiti in an appropriate time frame. ESDA Ambassadors are equipped with painting supplies to support businesses that have been targeted by vandalism. If desired, one of our Ambassadors can assist with painting over the graffiti if it is on ground level. We simply request that you provide us with the paint that matches the building.
ESDA provides:
Ambassadors assisting with painting over graffiti tagging and vandalism.
Procedures on how to safely remove graffiti that protects the individual, business, and the environment.
Offer recommendations to prevent graffiti from re-emerging again.
Resources for applying paint or anti-graffiti coatings to building surfaces so that graffiti can be easily removed.
Major Trash Removal
With the establishment of the BIA (and subject to limited funding), ESDA will be able to fund the removal of major trash pile-ups.
Public Trash Bins
With more public trash bins, we hope to cut down on the amount of litter. If you are interested in having a public trash bin located in front of your business, please contact Rachel Holloway, Neighborhood Services Program Manager, at rachel@everettstationdistrict.com.
